this is the story of how one day I bought a house
up on the highest hill
where time had stood so still for centuries or more
down on the italian coast
that place belonged to me
but just for a few years
it gave me time to think
time to reflect on things
on things that I’d done wrong
on how to carry on

one day I got a call from one lady luck
that lady looked so tall
I didn’t give a fuck
she said ‘name your price”
the house was not for sale
but when she rolled the dice
I sold my soul away

as I say goodbye now
look for a grown-up’s pad
I feel a tingle down my belly
